Julia Batavia joined the Penguin/Portfolio team in October, 2011. Before her move to the publishing industry (because books are better), she was an associate producer for the Emmy award-winning series “MTV’s MADE.” Julia graduated with honors from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2009 with a B.F.A in Film and Television Production.
Julia is a California native who now lives in New York City. When she’s not reading she likes to spend her spare time tap dancing, hosting movie nights, supporting Strand Bookstore and looking at puppies in pet shop windows.
